Round Two...

So after dinner Jacob had the opportunity to earn his coloring book back! (It got taken away for 2 days). He cleaned his toilet took out all the trash...so that left him with an hour before bedtime. I reminded him that he had 15 mins left and talked about how nice it would be for him to go to bed like a big boy and with a smile.
Big hand is at the top "time for bed Jacob" OK I ask him would you please go brush your teeth? "NO"! uh oh...ok here are your choices brush your teeth when I ask and get to read 2 stories with mommy and Gabby OR brush your teeth unhappily and no stories...he chose wisely! We Read two stories...kinda took longer then I had liked, asked to give hugs and kisses to daddy then came in bed. He did ask if I or dad would lay with him for 5 mins. Mommy approved but any funny stuff daddy comes out. So I proceeded to put Gabby in bed. 15 Mins later I ask Daddy to leave...Jacob comes out to go potty which is OK, he doesn't' Lose anything when he gets up to go potty (sheesh I am not THAT mean!) Then I gently remind him "if you leave your room the nightlight comes out".
It was an hour after I said bedtime, BUT he didn't get out of bed! SO in my book it was a Win Win for both of us...Mommy got her night time back and stress free, Jacob got to keep his nightlight and door open!

It is amazing how quick you can have results when you stick to a routine and they know what is coming and or expected of them...Way too go Jacob I am so proud of you!

Gabby-poor thing hasn't gotten much written about her...SHE IS GOING POTTY IN THE POTTY! Yahoo she is doing so good about going potty after her bath. Just going with it for the time being but not wanting to push her until she is ready ready. :)
